In September, one of our team joined an expedition to Transylvania, raising funds for Keech Hospice Care.
The group trekked for 5 days, climbing the equivalent of Ben Nevis 3 times and covering over 100km. The trek took them through forests shared with bears and wolves, as well as past the infamous Dracula’s Castle (Bram Castle).
On the final day of the expedition, the trekkers spent the day at St Mary’s Hospice in Bucharest, helping the staff there tend to children with a variety of life limiting illnesses. This was perhaps the hardest day of the trek, and one that the team will never forget.
The Expedition was a huge success and raised a grand total of £44,000 for Keech Hospice Care, as well as providing support for the nursing team at St Mary’s Hospice.
